Each year the Society for Natural Sciences and supporting networks come together to promote the excellent research project outcomes from our high-flying students. As part of the courses many of our students engage with the most advanced research at the interface between multiple disciplines – the event is a showcase for these students, as well as a networking event of students, academic staff and industrialists across the country.
The annual student conference is a great opportunity for attendees to:
- Gain experience of attending a conference
- Hear about the exciting research taking place at institutions around the country.
- Develop presentation and communication skills by presenting their own research.
- Meet other society members and grow their network.
- Expand their LinkedIn Profile and CV with new skills and experiences.
The conference is also open to other members who have an interest in hearing about the research which undergraduate students are involved with, make connections with other members for future projects and opportunities and become more involved with the society itself.
Who is the conference aimed at?
The Conference is aimed at third and fourth year students on interdisciplinary degree programmes who would like to present their research in either an oral or poster presentation at a National Conference.
Additionally the conference is open to students or staff who are interested in hearing about the research that students on interdisciplinary programmes are involved with. Those who would like to make connections with other members for future projects or opportunities or become more involved with the Society itself.
The conference is only open to members of the Society for Natural Sciences so if you are not currently a member and would like to attend or present then please find out more about membership of the Society.
The 4th Annual Conference was planned to be held 6-7th April 2019 at University of York. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 this was postponed and was held virtually on 29th March 2021.
