Trustees
The trustees have oversight of the activities of the exectuive committee and its subcommittees to ensure that the Society meets its Charitable Purposes
Become a Trustee: The Society welcomes applications to become a trustee. Trustees are elected by members annually at the AGM and serve initially for three years. Trustees receive agendas and minutes of the executive committee and are invited to its attend meetings.

Executive Committee
Membership comprises the Society chair, the CEO, finance director and chairs of subcommittees. A number of members are co-opted for specific purposes (for example, the web site manager).
Society Sub-Committees
Accreditation (chair: Professor Nicky King)
Responsible for accrediting degrees in Natural Sciences. The Society maintains a list of academics willing to serve on accreditation panels and welcomes applications to join. Please contact Professor Nicky King (chair@socnatsci.org) if you are interested.
Membership (chair: vacant)
Responsible for approval of applications to join the Society and for developing ways to encourage membership applications
External Relations (chair: Kate Tape)
Responsible for outreach programmes, membership activities and events and marketing
Pedagogic Research (chair: Dr Sarah Gretton)
Responsible for staff development activities and coordinating research into interdisciplinary teaching
Responsible for the annual student conference and the student journal
Oversight of the Society Journal New Directions in the Teaching of Sciences
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (chair: vacant)
Oversight and promotion of the Society’s commitment to EDI
The Society welcomes applications from members of the Society to join the subcommittees. Note that all members of committees offer their services free. Meetings are held online so there are no travel expenses.
